Medical Director-Northwest Ohio

Student Health Center for a major northwest Ohio university seeking qualified candidates for the position of Medical Director.  The Medical Director will be responsible for administrative and program oversight and clinical care of students.  Responsibilities include direct patient care, supervision of professional staff, administrative oversight duties, and medical liaison to the University and community in matters of public health and safety.

The University has reached an agreement with the local hospital to construct and operate a new University health facility on its campus. Opening during the academic year in 2013, the state-of-the-art facility will offer primary care, specialty care, and ancillary services to the University community which includes an enrollment of 21,000. The University is located in Ohio and has a population of 28,000. It is within two hours drive of major metropolitan areas such as Ann Arbor, Detroit, Toledo, Columbus and Cleveland. 

Job requirements:

Hold a doctorate in medicine (M.D. or D.O.) and board certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine;

Hold or obtain a current unrestricted Ohio medical license and DEA number;

Have five to ten years clinical practice experience, including supervision of healthcare professionals;

Demonstrate a track record of success in operating a private practice, university health center, or equivalent ambulatory care facility;

Experience in collegiate student health services is highly desirable.
